3. How long will it last? Our original pro-type (hung under an eave) has been hanging since 2015) Just a heads up - Nibbling critters has always been the cause of a broken system.

The cable doesn't bend or wrap like the paracord to secure your pulley line on a singular cleat. Using two cleats and wrapping the cable in figure-eight, allows you to "tie off" or "Hook off" (you have two cleats in your kit) your pulley line.

Since sharing OOAL limb with you: We have had two customer concerns regarding "frayed" paracord. The culprit in our experience has always been SQUIRRELS.
Please see the listing picture of our Oregon ICE STORM 2021 which did not damage Out on a Limb, we are still using that same OOAL today.
Parachute cord is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during WWII. The components of all-nylon Paracord make it weather resistant, meaning it will not rot or mildew. The strength of this compact cord gets the 550 term from its ability to withstand 550 lbs.
